An edited photograph of the view from my summer home. It is the site of my new YouTube channel called Live in Color, coming in 2019!
Gel Art
Blue Narcissus
My Gel Art, manipulated by computer with apps to skew composition. Gel Art doesn't look like GEL ART any more. Looks terrific as an Acrylic print, the larger the better!
Gel Art
Gel Art Bw Tinted

Jack Eadon and Dave Sommars

CasaPaz Dawn

Shangrila Sunset
Taken from Shangrila's deck, which points directly at where the sun sets on the summer solstice, this is a magical shot taken at a magical time. Every year the image is captured anew.

Purple Sky At Casapaz
The desert clouds at CasaPaz can form lovely patterns which can be highlighted with various shades depending on the time of year or day. This was an ordinary day in the desert, but beautiful and contemplative.
CasaPaz
Primary Desert Sunset
Primary Desert Sunset captures primary hues which are normally pastel, but took a desired turn this tie. Post production enhanced somewhat but we have God to thank for this one! Namaste!

Kingdom Of Sky
Kingdom of Sky is a surreal image of a dimension we cannot see but only feel. It is pure emptiness and very contemplative Where is the butterfly? What does it see. How does it feel? How are we like the butterfly? How are we not? Are we free? Possibilities are endless...

Sky is Nothing
An image I see every day. This captures the beauty that is nothing. It is a level of consciousness far deeper than the ego-driven insanity. We are all one great consciousness. To see it is to understand.
Gel Art
Gel Art #27 2.0
This is Version 2.0 of Gel Art, introducing an inorganic, very geometrical element into the random beauty that is Gel Art. Lfke life WITH ORDER, #27-2.0 captures beauty AND order: They can exist side-by-side! One can EXIST within the other.
Gel Art
Gel Art #17
This Gel Art is 3-Dimensipnal: playing with a space illusion by incorporating shapes to define depth.
Gel Art
Gel Art #18
Gel art execution focuses on adding depth.
Gel Art
Gel Art #20
Gel#20 takes Gel Art to a new level, capturing the natural beauty of the piece's components with subtle digital manipulation.
Gel Art
Gel Art #21
This execution of gel art focuses on an Adiaka design palette, with black, white, and a chroma, in this case red.
Gel Art
Gel Art #24
Gel Art#24 uses contrast, color, and sharpness to render depth. Subtle angles enhance the effect/illusion. As a large size, it's awesome: 24x24, 36x36 or even 40x40 in acrylic with aluminum mounts.
Gel Art
Gel Art #25
Strong primary colors popped to make this image dramatic. In a large size the gradations look airbrushed elegantly. Magnificent as 40x40 for larger.
Gel Art
Gel Art #1
This is the header for my gel art gallery. Shot with Zeiss optics on a Hasselblad trough multiple glass "platforms, backlit. A color correct gel was manipulated then shot once gel looked "right." This marks the Gel Art gallery, where there are multiple images, each of a different color palette. Can be displayed as an array of small acrylics or can be used as a larger behind-couch mural. Acrylic looks best with these vibrant colors.
Gel Art
Gel Art #12
Gel art palette of green, blue, and lavender
Gel Art
Gel Art #13
Same palette as Gel Art #12 but has less than 100% opacity ohm symbol embedded.
Gel Art
Gel Art #14
Similar to Gel Art #12 with enhanced color. Whitened whites.

Fresh Light
Over four days, a wall was assembled, antiques gathered, the floor fabricated,. The final shooting took only 1/2 a day of experimental light painting on these elements. Hangs in limited edition 19x26 form around the world. Looks particularly good as large canvas wrap larger than 24x30 with mirrored wrapping. Looks like a painting.

Flowers In Light
Light painted double expose with adjusted focus between exposures to render a thin but precise line around the tulips. Between exposures a black felt card was introduced while the tulips were "painted." During this detail exposure the focus was adjusted pointed s slightly smaller image of the tulips against a larger silhouette of them. Has been framed in many ways that look good: barn wood, black, ruby, are dark green, etc.

Shaft Of Light
This was "officially" my last studio photograph. It took 2 days to produce. I did the light painting in complete darkness. The shaft was created by a tiny bulb that had to be exposed for 26 minutes in a darkened studio while we went up to Marge's and had a sandwich! The backdrop was rented from Hollywood for $30 and was originally in the first Ben Hur movie staring Charlton Heston. Looks awesome in a canvas wrap, 24x30 or even larger!

Starry Night At Casapaz
CasaPaz is beautiful on starry nights, especially when pixels are excited in such a way as to "hyper-expose" stars! If Van Gogh were alive in the 21st century, he'd shoot this with his iphone like I did. The vision would be the same! Vincent, you are my man! Stunning in acrylic. The "reflex blue" is luscious.

Moon Over CasaPaz
Downs are magic at CasaPaz. The desert colors are electric and with each full moon there comes several mornings when the sun and moon rise together. Awesome, especially with the echo of new age flute music and the perpetual tweeting of birds eat morning when I do the hot tub!

Sunrise Mooonrise
One morning the sun and moon join each other as both were rising. The brilliant orange was almost real, as the dawn blossomed. I was with a close friend and shared a wonderful moment as we watched the dawn and listened to echoing new age flute music!

Layers Of Life
Layers of Life is a combination of images digitally combined in such a way as to create a 3-Dimensional effect. Subtle drop shadows and transparent layers make the illusion real. When you touch it, you really expect the "feel" the levels. From normal viewing distance, twice the diagonal dimension, the 3-D effect is quite convincing, without 3D glasses! Contemplating the design is mind-boggling.

Perfection
Perfection is a still life image of my soap dish and a bar of soap. The soap is oval; my images NORMALLY have a round element. So, therefore the image is imperfect, but it seems perfect. There has to be imperfection in anything to make it perfect!

Listen . . . Hear
Another beautiful sunset at Shangri-La in the mountains. The peace and quiet forces you to really hear the squawks of birds at sunset. That hearing is something that demands your attention as the post-production image of a large ear soars in the clouds above: barely perceptible, but there!

Taste . . . Savor
Light painted image with base exposure shot with 5000‚K flash and detail exposure with small flashight on tungsten film. Copy was introduced post-production.

Joy Is
The concept of Joy seems obvious. But it's not. Theres out THE PRESENT MOMENT. To be in the present is not to dread what was OR what will be. It's being in the only moment there ever is—NOW. No regrets, no worries— only the joy of being!

Balance All
My grandmother used to say,"Moderation in all things . . ." She was very wise. Balancing All is the same thing. There is no need for extremes. There can be joy without the volume! More contentment from the tapestry or the qualities of life. Balance is all about peace. The volume is drama, made up passion. Not REAL, authentic passion. This image calls for the utter simplicity of Balance in all things. A sort of "nothingness." A stillness. The stillness that exists between the noise that is our lives.

Hope Is A Choice
Each of us has a choice. Until we choose a hopeful future those around us will not be inspired by our being.
We are human BEINGS not human DOINGS. The hope we seek is always there, just like the sun in this image. We have to choose to unlock the door before us. Hope is infinite persistence ... without really trying at all! Hope accepts suffering but doesn't focus on it. In fact, it looks it squarely in the eye, then looks right past it.
